Milwaukee
I find it strange that this thread was likely created with the idea in mind that too many teams are named after their parent clubs, yet most people suggest renaming teams that already have original names.

Milwaukee has kept the Admirals name and not changed to the Predators in 16 years . The Wolves have remained as such through various affiliations. My previous posts in this thread were just for fun. I think most of the others were also.

They sold 3000 season tix for the Albany Admirals in 1989-90 for the Global Hockey League, which never materialized. It was why they moved the Komets to Albany in 1990 to become the Choppers.

While I will always will be a Bears fan... I would love to see the Albany River Rats again, that was a good classic name and logo. Albany Devils is too New Jerseyish...

Which of the Admiral teams would make better sense changing their name, Milwaukee or Norfolk?

Agreed.

Aren't both on bodies of water? Norfolk on the Atlantic and Milwaukee on Lake Michigan? I think they both work nicely until there's an Admirals/Admirals Calder Cup.

Actually, the team in Milwaukee is named after the Admiral-brand of home appliances, which is just a shame that their original owners weren't affiliated with a different brand as we could be talking about the Milwaukee Maytags if they were.

I think the Iowa Admirals should be moved to Amana, Iowa. Portland can move to Sears Island and be called the Sears Admirals.

I hear there's going to be an expansion team in Admiral, West Virginia called the Admiral Admirals.
