Value of: Ideal salaries

In a perfect world where a deal is good for a player and the team as well, and in today's salary averages and payouts. What should a:

First line centre make?
Second line centre make?

Top pairing defenseman make?
Second pairing defenseman make?


I am going to guess a first line centre these days should ideally be making around $9-10 million
Second line centre should be around $6-6.5 million

First pairing defenseman I feel should make around $9 million
Second pairing around $6 million

If this is the case a team would spend around $15 million on their top two centres and around $30 million in their top four.

That's fair to say or am I off on my numbers??

So 80 point guys getting around 8 million.

Toews and Kane deals killed that.

Now you have RyJo posting 61 and 60 point seasons signing for 8 million.

Also...most realize that there is usually a difference in RFA and UFA contract...or that UFA years cost more. But the Oilers started the 6 million dollar deals for 2nd contracts and it has impacted the league.

I think long term deals are huge because the way the cap keeps going someone like Johansen will be a steal at $8 million per season in like 3-4 years.
