I am not sure it's a good idea to save everything for the draft then the second it starts before they pick first we have 5 deals. It sort of over shadows the guy being drafted first a bit

The reason for the draft is to deaft young players and show hope for the future of the organization. Its not a second trade deadline. Its not about the trades, of course they happen but they arent the point of the draft

Trades can happen at any time. There is no ban on trades during the playoffs.

Trades are allowed all year (aside from roster freezes) you can make trades a day after the deadline, in the playoffs, during game 7 of the finals.

has there been a trade that knocked the NHL playoffs off the third page in Canada? Trades wont start happening until 48 prior to the draft and on draft day we will have about a dozen trades
