The key is to have a very long to-do list and then if you finish something that's not on your list, add it and cross it off right away. That way, even when you finish 1 or 2, it's barely noticeable on the big list and you never get in trouble for not finishing the list. Trust me, it works.

IMO the best strat is cold turkey + embrace misery and the darkness + suffer for a solid month + a very very understanding partner or friend who can be around to hear you wail, complain, and be a cranky ***** + chewing gum + learning to smell again.
I was fully prepared to gloss over a preachy, let-me-tell-you-what's-best post without absorbing any of its content.

Damn you.

I did that once. Once.

For once, I'm actually good here. These are things I've been wanting to do for a while, but haven't had a chance to because of the demands of having a baby around. Things that tend to get bumped down the list mostly because there's other stuff that my wife cares about more.

But yes, adding things to the list for the sole purpose of crossing them off has redeemed countless weekends, both for my own personal edification and to make the wife happy.

I appreciate the support guys, but I haven't been around most of the past couple days (migraines are a mother****er) so The Underboss helping out is appreciated. I would have taken care of things myself if I had been around at the time.

Meanwhile I was laid out on a NC beach watching fireworks with a margarita and a box of Bo’s, drinking myself into a stupor and ignoring mod duties because the 2019 season is already ruint and there’s no point paying attention to anything anymore.

@garnetpalmetto, on the other hand, has no excuse at all.

He was too busy making a bunch of shiny new threads on the ‘unmoderated’ politics board.

Nope, my excuse is that Underboss got to it before I even logged in that morning and saw the 1,000 post cap was back. My excuse was sleeping in for once.
