Back in the early days of '00 some poor excuse of a columnist on the uni paper was complaining about an incident that happened some time after the first LotR movie had come out. Their circle of people were sitting in uni cafeteria and someone wondered aloud how the first film had ended, after which everyone was hard trying to remember.

Some guy walked past and upon learning of the issue at hand, "how LotR ended", told them that Gollum threw the ring into Mt. Doom.
