I feel sorry for the players

    No, not the NHLPA guys making multi-millions per year.

    The ones making a fraction of that, the Josef Schmoes of the world who find themselves out of a job now that *hundreds* of NHL players have descended like a plague of locusts on their leagues, and stolen their jobs.

    Now they are finding out how north american players feel when a euro comes over and takes a spot here .

    Not even close to the same thing. That's two players of equal status competing for the same job.

    Most of them signed provisional contracts that allows them to return to NHL if it restarts. Most of them are playing for free. I would not be surprised that the above mentioned Joe Schmoes are still paid by their respective teams, but will only get to play if their more talented competition retreats back across the ocean.
