A likely excuse. His play has been horrendous. This is another clear example that Botterill is not the right man to lead Buffalo forward. Get him out of here.

I’ve soured on Botts too, but at the time Hutton was a good signing that was well received.

Now, if Botts brings Hutton back that may be a mistake. Going into 20-21 Ullmark should get a 70/30 workload. But if he’s not able to keep up or gets injured, i don’t want the hopes of yet another prime Jack season being left on the shoulders of Hutton.

Crapping on a guy for having an uncommon vision issue is pretty low class, even for this board.

We're not crapping on Hutton. We're crapping on Botterill and Kreuger for letting a goalie with vision problems make an already bad season worse by letting him continue to play. It's incomprehensibly stupid. Even dumber than the O'Reilly trade and putting Sobotka on the second line. These guys can't or won't make good decisions. Until they are ushered out there is absolutely no hope for this franchise.

It's not Hutton we're crapping on. It's the fact that Kruger and Botts knew and kept playing him anyways.

It's especially egregious seeing as how we finished 2 points out of a "playoff" spot and playing Hutton easily cost us 2 points......probably closer to 6-8 if not 10.

Well, if they didn't notice Lehner drinking 30 beers a day, then I'm not shocked Hutton walking around the locker room with dark glasses while waving a cane back and forth escaped their notice too.

Seriously, a lingering medical issue and no IR, and especially no effort to acquire a back-up? Staggering levels on incompetence from our coaching/management.

But I guess Kim knows what she knows so let the clown show continue.

This is the issue. Is there a systemic problem with the Sabres just not run in a professional manner? You look at something like this and you have to wonder.

You have a guy unable to function at practice and his supervisor (the goalie coach) sends him to a chiropractor in Toronto?

Maybe Buffalo News has some reporting to do (wouldn't be first time) but where were the team's doctor's, specialists? I've been questioning some medical decisions (like when guys are shut down) for years. This is the worst yet. Did the coach know? How couldn't he? Did the GM know?

In a normal organization, this goes to human resources and people have to answer for placing someone in workplace who couldn't do their job and hurt the the company.

Where are the repercussions here? I'd like to see another story on this but somehow it seems that's it. This organization may have suffered a significant setback missing playoffs because this issue wasn't addressed.

This is a reason I gave up my season's this year. The stupidity is reaching levels that I don't want to pay $100 US for pair a of tickets.

I put tickets only on hold but I will make it permanent. I'm not giving my money to a team run like this with zero hope of playoffs.

It's more that it was likely known and not handled properly. He shouldn't have been playing. Period. The. End. This is what I've come to expect. That being said, he was abysmal in net. This is just another in a line of examples. We're drafting and developing (Pilut leaves). You're telling me that in the right situations that Pilut wasn't a better option than McCabe. Bollocks, are you kidding me. They stuck to veterans and while they were "technically not eliminated, they went with overrated trash like Frolik and Simmonds to miraculously drag us over the edge.). Yes, neither cost a ton of draft capital, but they looked done. For those who want to bring up we're not physical enough, bring up Dalton Smith, sign Reaves in the off season etc.

It will be interesting to see how NHL shooters maneuver and attempt to move towards his "blind side" when he's playing.

He admitted a weakness and the NHL goal scorers are pretty ruthless at exploiting them.

lol this is probably what Kim was talking about when she said management had a bit more knowledge than the fans-

Kim: “well we were actually using a goalie who couldn’t see, so ha. Bet you feel dumb now. That’s why we failed, and you didn’t even know that. We know things fans aren’t aware of.”
Me- “wait- what? That’s worse. The thing you knew about happening is worse than the situation I’d auto-completed in my mind, so please, what in the actual f*** is happening with management?”
Kim: “Well we’ve all been huffing a lot of f***ing paint too, so that’s a factor. Bet you didn’t know that either. There’s a lot you don’t know.”
Me: “please stop.”
Kim: “Sustainability! Pass the aquamarine, that one tastes best.”
Me: “are you eating paint?”
Kim, between mouthfuls of paint: “lotta things the fans don’t know.”

*the above is satire, and probably not an accurate representation of reality. I don’t know what color paint Kim prefers.
