I have a staff member out east for a wedding as well this weekend.

She called me before she left asking if she should bring her work stuff in case she’s stuck there beyond the weekend.

I laughed and said just stay safe, that’s what sick days are for.

I think the eastern part of the province this is guaranteed to be one for the ages. The impact on central Nova Scotia seems to vary from Dorian on the low end to Juan on the high end.

Power finally went out for me. It lasted longer than I anticipated.

The fence with my neighbour. On his property though.

A couple trees that went down.

Lost a few shingles and have some loose paneling, but not too bad all things considered. Several powerline down elsewhere though and I heard a car wash was destroyed. Too much debris to be driving around for a look though.

Quite a bit of chop on the ocean today, but the worst is over.

Wow, it's messy, but I suppose it could have been much worse. Hope everyone is safe and sound, and hopefully the power gets restored quickly.

Looks reminiscent of the derecho damage earlier in the year in my area.

Yeah, I got through it fine. I'm about half a km away from shore so I'm safe from the waves. My crawlspace isn't as flooded as I anticipated either, so I was pretty fortunate. Roof needed to be re-shingled anyhow.
