I was only able to watch the third period for this one. What is interesting though is the teams have traded fates, it feels like. Meaning, in 2019 and 2020, the Bruins were our big brother constantly pulling our ear and bullying us. We had no answer. The past couple of years it has been the opposite. Both teams have been close-ish to even in terms of playing each other and in the standings; both great teams these past 5 years. However, now it just feels like the Canes are destined to beat the Bruins. You felt it when Martinook scored. But more importantly, I don't think the Canes players got worried when Boston tied the game at 2-2 two nights ago. We beat the Bruins in a 7 game series, and have kind of owned them since, despite them being still an absolutely elite team.
The craziest part about Wednesday's game is that we essentially won from our special teams and goaltending. Something a Hurricanes fan hasn't said since, well, ever.
