Well when I said we needed a good #5 to pair with Juulsen you said we can't afford it and should promote from within. So you're suggesting that if Z doesn't sign, you fill the #5 spot with a $3M player, Juulsen as #6 and "promote from within" to fill the #7 spot?

Move Jules up, promote the #7 from within. If they need to fill two spots, then some shopping needs to be done. We'll see how the cap shapes up this summer or if Big Z is willing to resign.

This is Hoglander's first solid season while Lekk has barely played AHL games. Neither one of them comes anywhere close to replacing Boeser. A team wanting to be competitive doesn't trade a 40 goal scorer. If Lekk is slow to develop, we're basically screwed.

This but I think we might not resing Brock with Hoglander (who might be better suited for a 3rd line role still) and Lekkerimaki accelerates his development.

But that's something for next off season not this one.
