How to get Press status?

How might one go about aquiring press status to hockey leagues, specifically the CHL and NHL? I run a site called http://draftrank.com and I'd like to begin doing some on-location scouting next year.

The CHL issues passes that cover all 3 leagues - WHL, OHL, QMJHL.

You can approach them here-

For the likes of the BCHL, AJHL etc. all individual leagues issue seperate cards/passes.
For CIS clubs the individual team issues passes.

I don't think the NHL would issue you a pass....you can try.

Yeah, I doubt I'll get an NHL pass but I might have a chance with the CHL.

Note the CHL passes are issued yearly.

Yup, I emailed asking about next year.

Just wondering, do you have a press pass? And do you know if I can just drop by? I just realized I actually pass by the CHL office regularly.

My CHL and AJHL are scouting passes.
My BCHL and CIS are media passes as they do not issue scouting passes.

All of mine were mailed to me.

Since you are going by why not stop in?

With passes / proper ID you also get a discount on the CHL games on the web.

What's the difference between the media and scouting passes? My site is based on the draft so I'm guessing I need the scouting pass?

I'm in that area around twice a month, was just around there 3 days ago. So next time I'm there I'll check it out.
