Not really ever physical in the knock you over for the puck sense (aside from that hit on his brother). But more in the Jagr sense where he could use his big body to keep the other team from getting to the puck at all.

He was a couple years ago under Muller, but as Rod said, with J. Staal, McClement, Nash, Nordstrom, Gerbe, etc...there's really no need for him to. Peters hasn't used him that way at all. IIRC, he was ok at it. Not great, but adequate.

I vaguely remember Staal and Semin being a very good PK duo in the lockout year, but I may be misremembering that.

Jagr's a good comparison.

When he's on his game, Staal's pretty good along the boards too. Not because he roughs people up, but because they can't move him off the puck without taking a penalty.
