He played like a stud for most of last season, curious as to what kind of contract and term people think he may get. Should be in line for a big payday and extension sometime this year.

Depending on how well he plays this year, I would probably see a 3.5-4m contract for 4 years.

If he can repeat and/or improve on the season he just had, he should easily be in line for 3.5 to 4 million per year with the cap increase. Probably on a bridge contract so he can stay as an RFA and then get a big payday again in a few years time.

He's 25 right now, this is his big payday.

Totally depends on what he does this year. Hes gotta prove that he is indeed a 40 point, 2-way center. If he can do that, Id guess maybe 4 years 4M per.

LOL JK. We all know Backlund is worth 8 years, 14M per. Lets get real folks.

Whoops, right you are. This is a big one for him because it will take him to UFA.

If he's the center I think he is, and the center we all want him to be, I hope they never let him get close to FA, either next season or any contract year to come.

I can tell you exactly what his contract will be.

Whatever his agent and Treliving agree upon.

I'd compare his nice contract to something like Bozak's where he's the best centre on the team and can cash in for over 4M per I wouldn't mind seeing him at 4.2M x 5years

If he starts out strongly, I think an extension at roughly 4-4.5M per for 3-5 years is what will happen.

Depends when the extension is signed. If it's early on, they could probably sign him in the low-to-mid 3s. If it's at the end of the year and he performs as I expect, it'll probably be over 4 AAV.

What I'd like to see is something around 3.5 for 6.
