I could have sworn that back in 2011 we'd hear on a nightly basis how the Leafs were badly outshot. Then in 2012, we were hearing how the Leafs were outshot on most nights. Then in 2013, we were hearing how the Leafs were being doubled-up on shots against. Bring in 2014, and we've been seeing the Leafs get bombed in shots against almost every night. And now in 2015, they're getting annihalated in the outshot-department on a nightly basis already.

How many years has this been now? I swear I was 4 or 5 years younger and my nephew wasn't even born yet when this all started... has it really been that long? If so, what kind of an NHL statistic might this be... what other teams carry on such putrid records for half a decade at a time?

That's unbelievable, that something like this can go on for that long without any changes?

Just google when the leafs hired Randy Carlyle

that's a LONG time to be outshot every night. It's unthinkable really. How can it be possible? It seems like this club can make the impossible a reality when it comes to something self-destructive

It really is crazy when you consider that before the coaching change we were consistently out shooting opponents and hardly ever giving up 40 shots.

We were just losing because of bad goaltending. Now its the complete opposite

You build a house on improper foundations and it'll always be shaky. Those foundations are Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf.

In Boston, they take struggling defensemen, rookies and whomever and put them with Chara to stabilize their games. In Toronto we worry about having someone "worthy" of playing with Dion.

In winning organizations like Detroit, all Babcock has to do is point at Zetterberg or Datsyuk in the room and tell a rookie to follow their lead, and they learn how to be a pro. In Toronto, the coach gives Phil preferential treatment (by his own admission) and criticize his linemates for not covering for his atrociously one dimensional and lazy hockey.

This organization cannot move forward with those two sores pulling in the highest salaries and dictating the work ethic and culture of the team.

Nonis needs to go.

Its both the coaching and the core players who dont back-check who are contributing to this. Nonis had his fingers in both and is failing to do anything about both.

Fire Nonis!
