Since coming into the league McDavid has increased his ppg and point totals every season. He's coming off a 108 point season where his team finished 31st in PP% at 14.8%. I think its reasonable to think that his PP numbers could increase given that the two seasons prior his team finished 5th and 18th in PP% with 22.9% and 18.1%, respectively. He is also likely to see an uptick in PP opportunities after a ridiculous low of 210 PP opportunities this season compared to 245 in 2016/17 and 237 in 2015/16.
Another factor to consider is his emerging chemistry with RNH as his winger. In 13 games last season with RNH as his winger, McDavid put up a stat line of 10-17-27, and followed that up with 5-12-17 in 10 games at the WC's with RNH as his winger.
So with that said, will McDavid hit 120 points this year (assuming 82 games played) and become the first player to do it since Crosby did it 12 years ago? I think so, and I think he would have done it last season as well if not for an abysmal power play. What do you think?
Edit: Consider the >120 option as 120 or greater.
