QB is facing twenty four civil lawsuits.

The 24th case – like the others – will allege sexual misconduct by Watson during massage appointments and the client will also be represented by attorney Tony Buzbee.

He's offered a $100k settlement per alleged victim in the first 22 cases.

Not facing criminal charges.

Previously, Goodell suspended player 6 games over interaction with one woman.

His contract this season pays out only $1m so any fines/suspension may not be a big financial hit.

I believe 18 of the 22 were prepared to settle at that time. But Watson and his lawyers wanted to not include a NDA. At that point just get it taken care of and move forward with the final 4 at the time. Now more details have emerged regarding his actions.

Honestly, does he risk losing this season on the commissioner’s list? And then taking an actual suspension in 2023 once the lawsuits are resolved? Leaving him out of live football for 3 full season?

He gave Ezekiel Elliot 6 games for what turned out to be baseless claims of abuse so I expect Watson will get 10 games minimum, likely more.

It's just insane that things have reached this point where the PA is actively protecting a player from consequences for this level of misconduct, by using the argument that the league also protects their people from consequences for this level of misconduct.

So basically both sides are going to end up openly agreeing to sweep egregious behavior under the rug, which is somehow even worse than when they just did blew this stuff off in secrecy.

One significant accuser, Solis, is planning to go ahead with court case, probably in 2023. That has implications of Watson being on the shelf until resolved (potential suspension notwithstanding)

I'm a Browns fan and even I think he should be suspended indefinitely. Let him apply for reinstatement after a year.

That's a union's job though. You pay to be part of a union and the union has to defend you.

I get it, but this is a case where they are creating an accountability vacuum that systematically protects abusers. It’s reprehensible and a perfect illustration of having a “circle the wagons” mentality without any ethical boundaries.

It's a perfect microcosm of our political nightmare.

When presented with the seemingly endless misgivings of their side, the brainwashed masses strut down that runway with the sexiest whataboutism known to mankind.

The fact that browns went full on desperation and said here Deshaun let’s put your salary at the veteran minimum of LITERALLY $1 million so you don’t lose any money, and jack your signing Bonus up to $10 million so you have spending money just really bothers me.

It’s like a form of enabling
