Hadn't heard that particular one. I know Shanahan patched things up with Davey Keon, and retired a bunch of numbers.

Another 'curse' I heard about a long time ago was when Tim Horton died. The Sabres - his current team, all wore black armbands, for the next few games, and I think for the rest of the season. The Leaf players wanted to do the same, but Ballard refused, and apparently, one of the players said the Leafs didn't deserve to win again.

Horton played 18 full seasons with the Leafs, and less than two with Buffalo, yet they retired his number first.
