Need to take both games in regulation. Can't allow the Flyers any points.

It's really difficult for me to be positive when the Islanders play the Flyers. They have been dominating the Isles for some time now. Maybe things will change this weekend.

I don't think this is realistic. We need to take, at a minimum, 2 out of 4 points in regulation over the next two games to really keep this going forward. If we can do better, great, but we can't do worse.

Hamonic is a big loss against a team like Philly. He's really our only nasty D-man. DeHaan is playing really well and Strait brings a little physicality but no one on D brings down the Hammer like Hamonic.

For a team that can beat the Hawks, Bruins, Penguins and Sharks but lose to Panthers, Hurricanes, Jackets and Sabres, every team is beatable and unbeatable. Depends on whether Dr Jekyll shows up or Mr. Hyde. I think we need at least 3 out of 4 to really start making up ground. One game at a time!!

LGI !!

No sure it's Jekyll and Hyde thing or more a case of they play to the level of their competition.

These two games and the NYR game, are going to be tough.

Two against the Flyers, and three against the Rangers over the next two weeks. And we need to win them all. These two weeks can make or break the season.

We all know what they need to do to keep their chances alive for the playoffs (playoffs?) But if they can't, what do you think sinks them? Splitting? Losing most? What would take the air out of the Islander's tires for you?

If they split those games against the Rangers/Flyers, they need to maintain about an .800 win percentage over the remainder of the season. Not impossible, but it would be incredible if they managed to do it. It would be incredible for any team to manage that kind of success over half a season. No team currently has an .800 win percentage, so they would have to play better than any other team has up until this point over the second half. And even then, they would probably be just sneaking in.

If they win those games out, and manage to win 2 of 3 (one against Washington) going into the olympic break.... I like their chances of making it in. They would be coming back from the break with a healthy and rested Lubo, Hamonic and Nabby, probably sitting about 4 points out of a spot with 20+ games to go.
