We'll always have those two games against Toronto during the team's post-COVID outbreak where Holtby stood on his head, and the Canucks gave the Leafs some foreshadowing of the playoff disappointment that lay ahead.

$1.9m caphit next season which to me is no big deal. The Canucks have been paying between $800k and $3m for goalies who don’t play here since 2014. What’s another year. $1.9m isn’t bad. Look what Minnesota is paying Parise and Suter.

Says something about the long term planning for this organization where we're buying out multiple contracts YOY.

Guess the willingness to eat buyout costs shows that ownership is fully supportive of the Benning regime. I'd say 'no excuses', but we all know that's not going to be the case, barring a monumental collapse.

To be a bit more precise, he could have been buried which would haveeant a cap hit of roughly 3.2m, so it's a saving of ~ 2.7m.

Disappointing signing from the get go and we get to live with it for an extra year to boot.

Only thing we can do is hope they have an actual play for UFA and aren't just trying to give themselves some pocket cash for window shopping.

Hard to believe there was anything that would have saved us remotely as much as buying Holtby out.

Everyone could see it was going to go badly except a certain segment of the fan base who is very often wrong.
