I'm glad that the NHL is starting to realize that there is a huge talent pool in the US and need to nurture it like they do in Canada!

the article is about hockey weekend in America but on the NBC coverage of the winter classic I saw an add for "Hockey day in America" which will be cool I'm sure!

Our rink is adding another "Try Hockey Free Day" on that saturday. Check your local hockey programs to see if they're doing anything special that weekend, and tell your friends to bring their kids! Should be fun!

My only gripe with Try Hockey Free Days is that they're only for kids. Adults have to buy used gear and make an ass out of themselves at drop in or sticks and pucks!
