Yup, he really loves Buffalo. Even if somethings went sideways, he was a sabre with all his heart. For selfish reasons, I would love him to come back for one last run, but I don't think that's realistic.

He wanted to come back a couple different times. Kinda stinks because he’s been a somewhat useful player (at least an improvement over the likes of Pouliot). Alas, that ship has sailed.

Sucks that he went downhill fast. Always wanted him in a Wings jersey but it sucks it happened so late in his career.

Why stop at Vanek? Derek Roy put up 42 points in the SweHL last year. That's only 1 point less than Olofsson before he came over. Vanek was practically a 20 goal scorer tallying 16G, 20A in 64 games. Pominville was practically a 20 goal scorer too. Modern athletes take great care of their bodies. These guys could play well into their 40's.

Bring him back. He would help our anemic PP and would be a great middle 6 winger. Vanek should be the Poms replacement.

No reason not to bring in a 20 goal scorer for 3 mil. Give Vanek 2/6 and get 40-45 goals the next 2 years. Vanek would be a worthy add. Bring him home.

He'd be an upgrade on some of the total garbage we threw out there this season, and really right now fans of this team could use a feelgood story in the worst way.

Vanek is still a ~20g/82gp forward. He is doing that getting bottom 6 minutes. He clearly wants to come back too. I am gladly signing any 20 goal forward who actually WANTS to be in Buffalo. We are weak on the right side anyway. Vanek will cost about half as much as Okposo yet will score more goals and more points. Poms is also gone, so that is ~15 goals on the right side leaving this team. Vanek would cost half of what Poms did.

Vanek is not going to solve all the problens but on a 1 or 2 year deal he would add 20 goals and help our anemic PP. I think a Vanek in front of the net on a PP2 that features Risto, Mitts and Montour could actually be a halfway decent unit.
