Higgins/Plekanec/Gorges for Lecavalier

I had a good memory of the press conference and like to bring it up when the rumours get too crazy.

I'll spread the good word too when needed. This thing blew up when Lawton's fiction went on air.

Now? Sure.

But in 2009 he had 67 points in 77 games. Not superstar numbers right?

Still...hard to dispute the 40 goals, 52 assists in 81 games the year prior.

Or maybe the 52 goals, 56 assists in 82 games the year before that.

At the time, Lecavalier was a stud.

Since then, Lecavalier only had one season where he was better the Plekanec. And that's only statistically, it's not counting Plekanec's 2-way play. Even if we pretend (or concede, wtv) that Vinny was better for the 5 years since this rumor, Gorges and Higgins far exceed the difference. And what Lecavalier did prior is totally irrelevant to the fact that I'm happy the trade didn't end up happening.
