Psycho barely made it out of the previous poll. It's good to get away from those 10 golden years of horror where we were stuck up 'til now.
Hitchcock will not be happy with only one film in the top-10 and The Birds takes the opened spot as it was next in line, way behind the other 60s films voted in.

HF's best horror films of all-time
1) Alien (Scott, 1979)
2) The Shining (Kubrick, 1980)
3) The Exorcist (Friedkin, 1973)
T4) The Thing (Carpenter, 1982)
T4) Halloween (Carpenter, 1978)
6) Psycho (Hitchtcock, 1960)

Lots of great posters for the film. You have the conventional ones:

Shouldn't The Omen be an option?
The films that are in the poll are those that got the most votes in every decades' polls. The Omen finished 7th in the 70s poll, it will get in the poll as soon as another film from the decade is voted in the top-10.

I wanted to stimulate the vote with a link to this:

But I just browsed through and there's explicit sex scenes... I'll find something else! (it really looks terrible anyway)

Killarney, MB
went with nightmare on elm street.

most underrated horror movie for me would be Ravenous (1999)
the trailers on youtube are terrible 90s style but I would recommend giving it a try if you have not watched it.

Let's stimulate the vote! It's tough, I wanted to send Body Melt, Nightmares, Next of Kin, Delirium: Photo of Gioia, or even Killer Workout (aka Aerobicide), but they're all on YouTube!! So I decided to go lighter for this one... a few random participants to the poll will receive a link to...

I don't know. I would think that the XXX movie that you mentioned earlier would "stimulate" voters more than a children's movie, but what do I know ;).

Oh you are absolutely right. And I've got a few really weird films like that mixing horror and porn - saddly they all look like trash.
