Last few posts:

Just grabbed me a Straub Amber Ale from the fridge.

I just had a call with one of the HR people at the company I'm applying for. It basically seems like a conclusion that I'll get the offer, regardless of what happens with other interviews. They're already asking me to start December 6th, which is interesting because the HR person I talked to last night said they don't usually do on-boarding in the last month of the year. I also learned that they consider this a "critical hire" position, meaning it is signing bonus eligible (which I quickly pointed out), so I'm looking at up to a $20k signing bonus too

The question comes down to the thing I mentioned last night: is my address eligible for a remote FTE position? I sent their finance people my exact address today and am waiting to hear back from them, so that's really the entire determining factor for whether I get this job.

I'm pretty much solely a light lager/pilsner type of drinker. I've tried dark beers and IPAs in the past and I'm just not a huge fan of them.

I actually just got Penn Pilsner on tap after having Stella on tap, and honestly I kinda like Stella better

I'm a plebian to the alcohol scene, drank more in HS than I did in my early twenties, was dry from like 21-25. Need to try me some of that Straub, I googled it and it looks yummy af

IPA's are just not fun for me, unless they have an ultra exotic variety. I'll try some micro brew stuff on occasion if I see something that looks fun, otherwise they seem like the definition of an "acquired taste"

Trust me, if you drink enough IPAs you'll eventually be able to tolerate them. I absolutely despised them for the longest time. But they're on tap everywhere so I supposed I had to drink them.

Also had a Helltown Mischievous Brown Ale at dinner.

You pair of tits, I got to choose the hoodie

So you chose the Leafs one. Interesting choice…

I'm going to do my best to destroy the internets enjoyability level for anyone and everyone.
I'm going to the dark side.

What did the internet do to you? More importantly, what did I do to you? This seems like targeted punishment directed toward the mods. :P

@Randy Butternubs about the hf bucks.. yeah.. it's because they do competitions or something and reset it every month or three...
I donno. Cole told me something along those lines after I was pissed I lost 500k ...

It should be season based or something. Every month or three makes the worthless money even more worthless... imo

@LOGiK 's isp blocked pornhub and he mad.
wats pornhub?

Actually... I don't like my ip being associated with those smut sites and if I must watch smut... I just torrent them.
I still watch, but very seldom. Compared to my teens and 20's... I'd say I cut back the smut probably 90%

add:
Thats also a funny thing. 20 some years ago when ip's were dynamic from a pool of ip's... I'd always wanted a static ip so I could host things... website, etc etc...
Now 20 years ago when ip's are mostly static ... I don't want it because it's much more simple to be tracked.

Funny the way things change.

I decided to go ahead and buy Zack Snyder's Director's Cut for Justice League. I can't seem to get the motivation to sit down and watch it though because I don't really have 4 hours straight of spare time I want to devote to staring at a TV screen.

This space.
I wear cargo shorts (with crocs!) because they're convenient. Keep ridiculing me and I might just have to wear a fanny pack too, put a blob of sunscreen on my nose without rubbing it in. I may even get myself a button up t-shirt with flames on it and grow a moustache.

Obviously you are not the outdoorsy type. Cargo shorts are the best.

I had an early morning rewatch of Darjeeling Limited today and realized that my wardrobe is becoming increasingly likely to be seen in a Wes Anderson movie and I don't know if I like it.

Bad news on my job situation, it turns out there is a 30-40 mile radius centered around Pittsburgh that makes it impossible to support a remote full time role, so that option is no longer on the table. The main options I'm exploring right now are relocating to Seattle immediately (which is an awful idea) or being a contractor up front. Whether or not I'd be fine with being a contractor really depends on how bad the benefits are for contractors, they're trying to get that info for me right now.

I think my official demands are going to be:

1. I want to sign 2 employment agreements up front, one for the contract that lasts 9-18 months and one that starts me as a FTE employee in Seattle right after the contract ends. Apparently the "transition offer" usually comes 3 or 4 months into a contract, but I'm going to demand it up front.
2. Give me the signing bonus you mentioned since this is listed as a "critical position". If it can't be filled as a contractor and I have to wait until I'm a FTE employee, I'm fine with that. I really need that money as a downpayment for a house in Seattle.

I think that's all I'd ask for, though. This doesn't seem unreasonable to me but I have no clue how they'd react.

Well, watched cop shop... another nothing of a movie. Excessive vulgarity and violence with no story what so ever.
I guess people are wildly violent obsessed beasts that just grunt and hit each other over the head.... and people enjoy that.
Not f***ing me I say.
And ya know, I got into it with wifey yesterday, telling her I get all these movies FOR HER... because she wants action.... but then falls asleep for 90% of all movies... AND then I'm the one stuck watching this crap and I'd NEVER watch it alone.... maybe in the background, while doing something productive, but sit and give my attention NEVER....
So after arguing, well, explaining how I'm done with these vulgar, violent storyless movies.... I'm going back to my late 30's, 40's and 50's g-era of movies. I put on a few minutes of 'The Killers' and she and I were already more interested in the tension and who 'the swede' was than in any moment at all during copflop.

Seattle?
Woah pump the brakes.
I begged and pleaded to have my next duty station at whidby island... or bremerton, but more whidby for the fog and rain and islands on the ocean kinda deal.

I'd take anywhere > pa

Yeah it's both. They bring halloween to christmas so... both.
Can't believe that it is now popular mainstream decorations now. (Inflatables, and all kinds of christmas displays (even lowes has them))

It wasn't that way 5-10 years ago.... was it? Am I that oblivious? I don't think it was so popular.... maybe in the 'nerd' or fab / niche shops like FYE etc.... but now it's EVERYWHERE....

Inflatable decorations took off (no pun intended) about 10 years ago.

It very much was...but it wasn't I'd say much more than 20 years ago. I remember seemingly being the only kid that was obsessed with that movie, and then by the time I was in high school (~2001) you started seeing Christmas decorations and the like pop-up. As a teen with a lot of goth friends in the early/mid 00s it was weird seeing that movie go from this weird oddity to basically the mascot of mall goth culture.

All I can really say is that my holiday season working at Best Buy made me absolutely despise every Christmas song that wasn't on that soundtrack. Kidnap the Sandy Claws is the remedy for Wonderful Christmastime. Well, the best this side of a shotgun.

No bigger signifier of that movies insanely long legs than the fact that Disneyland still covers its best ride in Nightmare Before Christmas stuff for 1/4 of the year, which sure enough started in 2001.

I was IA (deployed individually) with other fellow k9 guys and my partner and friend at the time (and still I guess but a world apart) had nothing but NBC toys and statuettes and tattoo's and socks and underwear and just so many nightmare related things.... that was 2010.
