For the Flames

13. Seth Jarvis - CAR - (10) - -3
31. Ozzy Wiesblatt - SJS - (33) - +2
55. Cross Hanas - DET - (106) - +51
100. Carter Savoie - EDM - (62) - -38
191. Viktor Persson - VAN - (121) - -70
204. Ben McCartney - PHX - (198-2019) - 1 year and -6

My last two 2nd rounders have been drafted 31st, and my last two 4th round picks became 2nd rounders (I'm no Pasi or Keogh or Tony though!). Will take that, and not too surprised at Savoie's drop, but the Oil is not a bad spot for him.

EDIT: All my 2020's drafted and the last of my 2019's as well

2/44. C Vasiliy Ponomarev - CAR 2/53: -9

5/124. RD Alex Cotton - DET 5/132: -8

So most in the ballpark, Novak and Berard slid, Prokop jumped up. Overall pretty happy, although that’s a lot of Rangers and Wild prospects...

For the Blues, good news at the top, bad news at the bottom, but I'd prefer it that way anyway given the crap shoot of later rounders. Having drafted 4 d-men to start, was pleased I nabbed two of the first 5 drafted blueliners, and 3 of the top 10 d-men with Faber going mid-2nd.

1/9 - Jake Sanderson (1/5-Ottawa). +4 and over the moon my team took my guy. Finally listened to me!
2/47 - Shakir Mukhamadulin (1/20-NJ). +27 Feels like this pick de-risked my choice a bit, which was and still is all about upside
3/61-Will Villeneuve (4/122-Tor). -61 Knew he'd be 3rd rounder at the earliest, but I didn't have a 3rd and coveted his skills. Can always trade him to a Leafs fan.
4/103-Brock Faber (2/45-Phil) +59 Figured Faber and Villeneuve could flip flop, but didn't realize quite by how much.
4/111-James Hardi (ND). Wowzer. Not surprised by most of my DND's, but this one did. I get the skating issue, but the lad can score!
4/112 - Elmer Soderblom (159 in 2019). -47. Exploded last year so draft position from year prior not really a concern.
4/123-Aku Raty (151 in 2019) -28. This pick is all about luring his brother as a UFA in 12 years. Playing the long game.
5/133 - Valtteri Puustinen (203 in 2019). -58. See Soderblom.
5/135 - Vadim Zherenko (208 in 2019). -63. See Soderblom.
6/164 - Ruben Rafkin (ND). Another surprise given he's playing top minutes for TPS in the Liiga right now and thriving.
6/173 - Ethan Cardwell (ND). Not a major surprise, although perhaps takes the shine off some of his upside I saw.
6/174 - Isaak Phillips (5/141). +33. All about the tools and package more than the game at this point.
7/195 - Ilya Mironov (ND). The Blues just like drafting Russian d-men I thinking.

Brampton
Drydale 4th picked 6th ANA -2
Perfetti 6th picked 10th WPG -4
Lukas Cormier 50th picked 68th VGK -18
Roby Jarventie 52nd picked 33rd OTT +19
Joni Jurmo 56th picked 82nd VAN -26
Zayde Wisdom 62nd picked 94th PHI -32
Daniel Torgesson 72nd picked 40th WPG +32
Vsevolod Skotnikov ND
Landon Kosior ND
Lukas Svejovsky 191st picked 108th PIT +83

Lots of up an down guys. Until Skotnikov decided to just suck last 2 games like really bad thought he had an outside shot of being drafted. Shocked Kosior never got called up. Very suprised to see Torgersson, and Svejovsky climb so high.

Goes to show just how wild this draft is. Mostly I'm happy with the spots my players landed.

1/24, Dylan Holloway - 1/14, Edmonton: +10
2/55, Topi Niemela - 3/64, Toronto: -9
4/100 - Dylan Peterson - 3/86, St. Louis: +14
4/116 - Landon Slaggert - 3/79, Chicago: +37

4/117 - Colby Ambrosio - 4/118, Colorado: -1
5/146 - Trevor Kuntar - 3/89, Boston: +57
5/148 - Quinn Olson - 3/92, Boston: +56 (2019)

6/166 - Nikita Nesternko - 6/172, Minnesota: -6 (2019)
6/170 - Cole Brady - 5/127, New Jersey: +43 (2019)
6/179 - Pavel Tyutnev - Undrafted
7/190 - Santeri Hatakka - 6/184, San Jose: +6 (2019)
7/193 - Gage Goncalves - 2/62, Tampa Bay + 131
7/210 - Mason Lohrei - 2/58, Boston +152

So, on one hand, Holloway not only went a few spots higher, but exactly to the team I expected. Roy, let me know when you're ready to begin. On the other hand, Niemela slipping a bit really surprised me. There wasn't as much of a run on defencemen as I expected, which is part of it, but still surprised big defencemen like Kleven, Kuznetsov and Lohrei went higher.

As for the rest, almost all good news. Goncalves and especially Lohrei the shockers. I expected Goncalves to go higher than where I got him, especially after the WJC Camp invite, but second round was still surprising. Lohrei was something else though, especially as other than CSS (where he only cracked the final list in the mid-100s as a re-entry), I did not find him on any lists, but as Brock can attest, singled out for that 210 pick after going down a pandemic lockdown rabbit hole on possible USHL sleepers. Not sure I see a second rounder there, but 6'4" d-men who can put up points and had a late growth spurt will do that sometimes.

The rest was run of the mill. Surprised Peterson went below Slaggert, but like where both landed. Kuntar is a typical Boston pick, like Olson last year, and Ambrosio could play with Newhook at BU this year if there's hockey. I was surprised Tyutnev went undrafted, especially with a good start - and how that was valued - but I'm sure Jarmo will take him next year.

3/66 Sam Colangelo - 2/36, Anaheim +36
I was surprised to draft him as late as I did as I had him ranked 36th on my draft list. He lands at 36 to Anaheim in NHL 36 spots above where I drafted him. I’m happy with his landing spot and he seems like a Ducks type of draft pick.

3/81 Eemil Viro - 3/70, Detroit +11
Viro was a guy I was happy to get where I got him. Again a player I had quite a bit higher ranked in the 2nd round. Landing in Detroit I’m fairly pleased, Yzerman did a tremendous job in Tampa when he was there drafting and developing talent.

3/82 Roni Hirvonen - 2/59, Toronto +23
Hirvonen sort fo feel into my lap in our draft as I had him ranked 40th overall. He goes in the 2nd round to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs have done a good job over the past few years drafting and developing skilled players.

3/92 Jack Finley - 2/57, Tampa Bay +35
I personally had Finley ranked as a 3rd rounder. I’m not surprised that he ended up going higher then where I had him ranked and actually drafted. He’s a big centre with underrated skills. I’m very pleased to have a player drafted by the Cup champs.

5/126 Calle Clang - 3/77, Pittsburgh +49
I was very surprised to see the Penguins draft Clang after they had already drafted Blomqvist. I think it’s actually a decent spot to have a goalie drafted, as they have done a decent job developing goalies.

5/137 Ryder Rolston - 5/139, Colorado -2
I was a fan of father Brian and it’s part of the reason I drafted Ryder hoping he’s a chip off the old block. I’m pleased to have him land in Colorado, where they have done a solid job developing talent.

5/138 Christoffer Sedoff - Not Drafted
I’m not really surprised that Sedoff didn’t get drafted, as he’s back in Finland playing in the junior leagues which has played into that fact.

5/140 Thimo Nickl - 4/104, Anaheim +36
Don’t have much to say here, happy to see him go higher then where I got him and not bad landing spot in Anaheim.

5/144 Bogdan Trineyev - 4/117, Washington +27
I’m fairly high on Trineyev and excited to see him land in Washington. He’s certainly a capitals type of pick.

6/182 Tucker Tynan - Not Drafted
Not surprised he didn’t get drafted after suffering a life threatening injury. All the reports I’ve seen it seems he’s doing well in his recovery. I drafted him as a long term gamble, as I felt he would have been drafted if not for the injury. I’m just hoping for a healthy and full recovery for the kid, anything else is just a bonus.
