With a large push to improve the roster an get better. Many great names like Cormier/Karlsson/Olausson/Trudeau/Ovechnikov/Pytlik

Here we go

1. Logan Cooley Center Drafted 2022 3rd overall

I would be lying to say I really wanted Cooley, there was even a world I traded down when Slavkovsky got picked. However I stuck with ultimate upside an based on his season it has paid off big. Named by pretty much every major scouting list the number 1 NHL affiliated prospect. Cooley transitioned to college seamlessly. An offensive dynamo who thinks the game at a high level projects to be a number 1 C for a Coyotes team starving to finally be good

2. Noah Ostlund Center 2022 31st overall

Ostlund transition to a higher level has not been seamless, however he appears to be gaining confidence. His two way game is still what stands out about him, the offensive talent really is the question on what his official ceiling is. However his game as the season has gone on has improved an he still appears to be exactly as I expected when I drafted him a solid 2 way middle six winger.

3. Jeremie Porier Defensemen Acquired in Trade

Porier is an offensive minded dman. He was Karlsson level offensive talent in his draft class, however his defensive game was just atrocious, leading to questions about what his ultimate upside is PP specialist, or can he round it out. It seems since his draft class Calgary has been telling him to focus on the defensive side. He has improved, but he still has a long way to go. However the offense just has not slowed down an amazing rookie AHL campaign, however his future role in Calgary has to be a question with such a deep line up. Still think he turns into a Kevin Shattenkirk/John Klingberg type the risk reward PP specialist.

4. Nolan Allan Defender 2021 79th overall

Allan is the opposite of Porier, he will not really show up on your stat sheet at the pro level. However he will do all the little things you need him to do, throw the body, block shots, an clog up the lanes with solid defense. He is the definition of the modern day defensive defenseman. Likely a 4-6 spot dman is his best upside, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

5. Alexei Protas Center Acquired via trade

The offense has translated better than I expected, an he has been up an down in the NHL. He is a middle 6 big bodied center an seems to be on track for that in a good way. He has played so well he's actually beaten out CMM for playing time in Washington.

6. Dmitri Kuzmin Defender 2021 60th overall

Kuzmin is another on this list of offensive minded defensemen. Almost a PPG in the OHL, unlike Porier his defensive game is solid though far from polished or amazing. I put him lower than the two dman above because I worry about his size an kind of being a jack of all trades master of none type. Like Allan I think he could be a top 4 dman, but more likely be a 2nd PP option 5/6 type.

7. Kocha Delic Winger 2022 189th overall

Delic has been the highest rising prospect on this list by far. Delic has played very well on a not so great Sudbury team. He's a hard worker, who does not quit an from all accounts a fan favorite. Can he beat the odds an be more than a bottom 6? The offensive translation will be the defining factor.

8. Matyas Sapovaliv Winger 2022 64th overall

Sapovaliv is a offensive dynamo, with a good NHL frame an willingness to use it to protect the puck. However, his foot speed well average needs abit of work to help his upside. If he can get his skating to be abit stronger he actually has more upside than some above him. But the skating issue means he sits here for now. A middle 6 winger or bust in my eyes.

9. Tyler Tucker Defender Acquired in Trade.

Tyler Tucker has had a cup of coffee this year, an looked the part of a physical top 4 dman. He will not wow you offensively, Infact you probably can expect his career highs to be less than 15. However think he has translated well an defied his draft position.

10. Jeremy Langlois Defender 2022 127th overall

Leaving a terrible screaming eagles team, an joining the powerhouse ramparts has done wonders for Langlois. Just a point off a PPG, the smooth skating offensive dman is a highly aggressive skater. His defensive game is fine, but his extremely aggressive style needs to be toned down abit or paired with someone whose willing to stay back. Langlois is likely a bottom pairing 2 PP unit dman.

11. Vesvold Skotnikov Goalie 2020 103th overall

What a rollercoaster of a career for him so far. Such is a life of a goalie, playing pretty well for CSKA Moscow. Goalies are very hard to predict, but since I drafted him I liked alot he brought to the table an well he has bounced up an down. I still think he has upside to be a solid split starter or very good back up on the future.

12. Oliver Nadeau Winger Acquired via trade

Injuries limited, Nadeau this year but his offensive talent is obvious. Over a PPG he has the chance to be a very good middle six winger. If he can ever stay healthy. More of a goal scorer than a play maker he really needs his offense to translate to be an NHLer. Making him boom or bust, an given his size an older than Sapovaliv puts him lower on the list given Sapovaliv can atleast carve out a good bottom 6 grinder role

13. Paul Ludwinski Winger 2022 50th overall

This year was a big question can he take the next step an prove he could be a middle six winger or just show me more of what I suspected he could be bottom 6 energy guy who gets in on the forecheck an plays hard with with good offense for a bottom 6 guy. An well he didn't prove me wrong, his offense has not really taken a step forward, he looks to be a prototypical bottom 6 winger.

14. Lukas Svejkovsky Winger 2020 191st overall

Small diminutive winger, really all in on offensive winger. He was shooting up my prospect rankings, this year however his first AHL season has been less than desired. He is a top 6 or bust type player. He could shoot up this list again next year if he adjusts an grows or fall off it all together.

15. Alexei Kosolov Goalie 2021 69th overall

My dad's goalie pick behind Cossa/Wallstadt. Plays on a very bad KHL team, making it hard to really get a read on him. His stats are fine, but not eye popping. Like all goalies a strong showing could sky rocket him up the list or a weak showing down the list. Like Skotnikov above him think his upside is Splitstarter/Back up goalie.

16. Martin Hugo Has Defender 2019 153rd overall

The definition in my eyes as a bottom pairing dman. Strong two way game but not elite at anything. Has can play the game anyway you want an is a big body standing in at 6 foot 4. I see him as a like Zach Bogosian/Luke Schenn type.

17. Jake Karabella Center 2022 82nd overall

Bottom 6 center through an through, he is a puck hound. He plays a solid two way game but his offensive talent limits him. However he was never drafted to a star but a good complimentary piece.

18. Hugo Havlid goalie 2022 83rd overall

His upside is honestly much higher than many on this list. He just wins games, an his talent at the goalie position is immense. The problem is his size, he makes Dustin Wolf seem big for a goalie an that is saying something. He is a definition of swing for the fences. Playing on a bad team Havlids numbers dont look good. But he has been hot last while an actually graduated to the next level an posted a shut out in his only game so far. Well I think his upside is much higher than alot of guys on this list. His size an his struggle this year puts him much lower.

19. Landon Kosier Defender 2020 149th overall

Late bloomer? We drafted him as a project that my AGM saw. An honestly, till this year it felt like a bust. However in his final season seems his game is finally showing flashes of what my AGM saw. A top 4 two way defender, however due to being undrafted, an older than alot of guys just breaking out. I put him lower on this list to keep expectations realistic. At this point he may be able to be a bottom pairing dman salvaging this pick.

20. Jerry Turkulinen Winger 2018 134th overall

Man it's been a long time, an every single year he just continues to play extremely well in Finland, every year I've seen reports suggesting NHL teams trying to bring him over. It's likely he never comes over at this point which is why he is so low on this list. However if he did decide to finally come to the NHL he could be an impact top 6 winger which is why I've kept his rights for so long.
