I'm confused by this based on age he's 24 in the NHL he signed 850k for 2 years. Which means he is on the rookie deal? Just need clarification here brock

Sam’s birthday is July 27, so he’ll be 25 by the ELC signing date of Sept 15, which means as a NA player he’s not limited in term or dollars.

I lowered my 4 x $1,999,999 offer at the last minute, or I’d be in a lottery with Keogh. Malinski has high upside, and is signed long-term here at under $2m which means he can be buried in the AHL without counting against Sean’s cap. Smart signing.

He can be buried in the AHL for 2023-24, but he would have to pass waivers for 2024-25 before being sent down to farm, so unless he makes the HFNHL Canucks next season, we will all likely have a chance to claim him off waivers around the start of the 2024-25 season.

What Douglas said. Kudos to him and Sean for catching that one. I didn't even notice his birthday and ELC signing age of 25. He would have had the same number of lotteries as Hirose otherwise. Explains why Colorado was able to sign him to a two year deal (albeit at a lower offer than the HFNHL because they're not crazy...lol).

UFA Second Round Bidding

Listed teams have until Tuesday, July 18 at 11:59 EST to increase their offer

Send by email. Only the invited teams (in brackets) are allowed to submit new offers. If you do not submit a new offer, your previous one will be used. If you wish, you can still prioritize signings using the format from the original offer sheet (doesn't have the be the same as your original priority listing). The current leading offer is the one shown. As a reminder, you can not back out of signings as offers are final. If you wish to decrease the number of players you have offered contracts to, use your priority listing as a reflection of that.

Forwards

Jordan Staal - 4 years x $3,500,000 (CBJ, BOS, NJ)
Ryan O'Reilly - 2 years x $5,197,879 (ANA, DET, PIT)
Jonathan Toews - 1 year x $6,000,000 (ANA, BOS)
Teddy Blueger - 3 years x $2,500,000 (CAR, PIT)

Rudolfs Balcers - 1 year x $850,000 (VGS, STL)
John Tavares - 4 years x $9,000,000 (NSH, BOS)

Brendan Lemieux - 3 years x $1,100,000 (ANA, WSH)
Connor Garland - 4 years x $2,000,000 (TB, BOS)
Tyler Bertuzzi - 4 years x $6,300,000 (NJ, ANA)

*Of Note - Vladimir Tarasenko received several significant offers at lower priority and some below market offers, so he will wait until the second round to sign (the actual second round following the completion of the entire round one).

Defense

Cody Ceci - 2 years x $3,000,000 (MTL, ARZ)
Matt Dumba - 1 year x $4,000,000 (VGS, ARZ)
Nate Schmidt - 4 years x $1,999,999 (NSH, COL)

He's not. The Lehner and Atkinson signings will be voided. People need to do better research. Folks, this was BY FAR the sloppiest FA that I have ever run. It takes hours and hours of my time. And this summer, I just don't have it. It was a major headache to run this year because of the lack of research put in by people.

Quick note that Patrick Kane was re-signed by the Kings prior to free agency.

No offense Mike, but this is not a quick note. A quick note could have been posted two weeks ago when Matthew updated the file. There were other signings missed but those GM's pointed them out so that they could be rectified. Kane is listed as an FA on the main site and has been that way for weeks. A simple email, post, or message, could have corrected this. Instead...it has MAJOR, MAJOR ramifications on free agency. I don't think some of you realize how much time this takes and it is reliant on a team effort. That team effort is lacking.

Correct - my apologies for not spotting it on the FA list. That said, teams are supposed to check themselves prior to the Fa bidding deadline to ensure all the signings have been captured correctly.

As Brock notes, this has a major impact on FA decisions, with multiple teams impacted.

I was going by the league file in the client software, which as of Monday (well into free agent submissions) had been updated with some but not all re-signings, even though that file should be in-sync with the rest of the site pages. That led me to believe the contracts weren't all updated yet, and since I stayed out of big free agent bidding this year aside from UDFA's I did not realize that the client file is apparently skipped sometimes when updating the website.

That's what happened. I have more points to make because I don't really agree that my team effort is lacking as I've been in this league since 1998 which has included admin roles, but I appreciate your work and won't bother.

I apologize for missing those contracts in my input - it's a mammoth task from the end of playoffs to start of season, with hundreds of transactions and contracts and I lead a super busy crazy life, so I appreciate and ask for help double checking on contracts and other sim input things in the hopes we can avoid situations like this. Regardless, I'm sorry I missed this and didn't catch it.

The league file is always updated with all the files and while I have yet to check, it should be fully updated whenever you download.

You're right it does look to be the same as the website. I thought there was a difference because I thought the website listed Copp as re-signed while the client didn't, but it appears Copp was also listed as a UFA on the website. Please just disregard; I made mistakes.

I'm not sure if the Matthew Phillips signed by Anaheim is my tiny little former Flames NHL guy but he's on my active roster presently signed for 1 more season. I would love to keep him unless it's a big deal.
