Arsen really need to be better this year or he won't even be on next year list. I'm still not even 100% sure he starts the year here, I could see him get mutually terminated if he doesn't make the AHL starting squad.

Pezzetta, Gorniak, Smith, Arsen, Henrikson for me.

39 prospects and a deep top 20?

giphy.gif

39 prospect is pretty usual. 2020 had 41, 2019 had 37 and 2018 had 38.

A "deep 20" can turn in a pile of shit quick. For example, people ranked our 2018 pool 11-15 in the league and it has definitely not delivered.

Juulsen #4, Olofsson #8, Lindgren/Fonstad/Fonstad/McShane/Bitten in the top 20...

Pool rankings you see every year are subjective and have extreme bias. I don't hold any value to that at all. This pool is deeper than anything we have seen in recent memory and it trumps what we had from 11-15 years. Our draft power and development resumes prove it.

Don't be afraid. This pool is deep with quality and quantity. Something we have not had for a very long time. Go count the WJC type talent we had in the last 4 or 5 drafts. It's well above average.

Will prospects bust or disappoint? Sure they will. All of them? I think not. Some will twist this into me saying we got stars but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying we are going to generate more NHL'ers with this latest group. Expect more surprises like Evans and Romanov
