Stankoven over Reinbacher... pure idiocy.

Zzz. Add Woood.

Right? What is Stankoven doing there?

Even the current results for this round are mind-blowing.

Reinbacher should be next then Dvorsky/Benson/Kulich in whatever order.

There is not a soul in history that would trade a top 10 pick in 2023 for any of the first two guys and Im a Habs fan. You need to put D+1 and D+2 in perspective and evaluate their outlook.
Maybe …. But I value Elite Offensive Dmen who flourished in their D+1 vs a few 18 year olds who were ranked anywhere from 7th-13th or so…. Even Benson fell a lot in the last few months. Not a good sign.

Redo the 2022 draft and Hutson is top 15 after the year he just had

And Reinbacher goes top 10 for sure ? How are Jiricek, Nemec and Mintyukov above Hutson and Zellwegger but not Reinbacher ? Do you not recognize the season he just had in a pro league ?

Reinbachers offensive potential is just as high as these guys.

I assume it has something to do with this being his draft year… and he went to exactly a hyped player on draft day

Just because you have reinbacher high doesn’t mean everyone shares that sentiment.

I don’t pretend to have watched most of these guys outside of highlights, but I voted for Knies because I was impressed by him last year and I think he is going to take a big step this year.

How?..... All we've been hearing is that Reinbacher has been a "safe pick with a high floor". I have no idea where youre getting that Reinbacher is going to be a great offensive Dman. Hell even Mailloux has better offensive potential, and possibly Guhle.

Meanwhile Hutson just put up the same numbers as Makar in NCAA at a younger age. His skillset is probably the best of all the options there right now. His ONLY knock is his size, which may or may not be a factor int he end. Ill I can guarantee is that he wont be 161 lbs in 3-4 years.

"Safe pick" is often misunderstood as low ceiling.

Speaking only for myself it shouldn't be too hard for Reinbacher to become a 40 or 50 pt guy. There is some question whether he can be a #1 PPQB, but even if you have a situation where Hutson is #1PPQB and Reinbacher #2PPQB who plays top minutes in all other situations, then Reinbacher is still the more valuable player of the two.

The chances of Hutson being more than a specialist are low. Who is the most valuable D in the NHL that doesn't play top minutes 5v5?

We just saw offensive specialist D like Barrie and Gostisbehere passed around on the cheap at the deadline.

not the best comparison, I think Hutson will be the better skater and have a lot more skill and "flash" than a Barrie or Ghost. Have you seen his highlight videos? They speak for themselves, and its not like hes playing in junior.... And no, he wont always be able to pull it off on every play at the NHL level, but skill is skill. Hes not going to just lose that.

And again, Makar being just 1-2 inch taller, and about 15 lbs heavier than Hutson (in their D+1).... Hutson put up the same production this past year in the same league. Its not a fluke.
