Thank you to everyone who participated in this poll series for the last couple of months. It was a fun summer project and we've managed to come up with (what I believe to be) a pretty good list.
Voters were asked to choose the best 2 players for the 17-18 season among a list of 20 options. The 2 players with the highest amount of votes were added on to the list.
Every player that was voted in was pitted in individual versus polls against the player directly above them and below them. This was to ensure that a player couldn't win their position through a minority vote (<50%). The full top 100 ranking complete with each player's versus poll win-loss record is below:

Fun facts/observations about the list:
- Winnipeg Jets have 5 players inside the top 57
- Toronto and Minnesota also both have 5 players in the top 100
- 8 of the 100 were drafted from the London Knights (Kane, Tavares, Marner, Perry, Kadri, Horvat, Tkachuk, Domi)
- PIT, WSH, WPG all have 3 players inside the top 30
- The last team to be represented on the list is Arizona (Stepan #85) followed by Vegas (Neal #84)
- NYR, a perennial top 10 offensive team, is not represented until #62 (Zuccarello)
Overall thoughts and criticisms
On the whole I think we (the 50+ people voting in these) did a good job and everyone is in the right area code. I think we essentially nailed the top 30 (not necessarily order, but the players). I think people might be over-estimating how younger players will do for the coming season. Some guys that are getting a change of scenery are really getting the benefit of the doubt, like Drouin being ranked ahead of guys like Horvat, Wennberg. Okposo also seems to have gotten a bit underrated after one slowish season.
Anyways, thanks again to everyone for participating in these. I'll bump this thread a couple times throughout the coming season so we can check on how well we did.
