That is onside. It's the exact same play as the Carolina-Calgary game earlier this year when people thought it was offside and it wasn't.

McAvoy put the puck back in the zone but didn't touch it until his teammate left the zone. Same situation as dumping the puck in while a teammate is offside and waiting for him to clear before touching the puck.

1. Puck crosses blueline
2. The Bruin tags up
3. McAvoy touches the puck

I think this is the first time I agree with you. There should be a 30 second clock after each goal for any challenges. Anything after should be deemed too close to tell and the game restarts.

I thought the rule was that play was blown dead if the puck is put in when you have a guy already in the zone.

But McAvoy didnt touch the puck at all in the zone until Kuraly reset.
