How bad is this schedule tonight when Sabres/Rangers feels like the game of the night?

Seriously though, I enjoy watching the Sabres, hope Dahlin is in as I heard he is a game time decision.

This has to make Sabre fans happy:

Chabot racking up the apples. 17 points now. He's really good. Sens lose a good D and have one ready to go.

Lundqvist purposely rips his mask off after losing his stick to get a whistle. No penalty WTF is that all about?

The left strap was dangling off, the replay showed it. I asked the same thing though, until the replay.

His strap broke off the Girgensons shot. Goalies are instructed to do take the mask off if that happens

The dream, in my mind, was Karlsson eating up 25 mins and Chabot eating up 23 mins.

I didn’t expect him to be this good this early.

Marty Biron is reading from the rulebook on the intermission and saying that should've been a delay of game on Lundqvist. :dunno:

Incorrect. As outlined in NHL rules, as was just explained by Marty Biron (a former NHL goalie) on MSG, if the goalie removes his mask during play, damaged equipment or not, it's a 2 minute delay of game penalty.
And...….after reviewing, he is correct.

That's a penalty
Yes it is, here is the statement in the rule.

When a goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask in order to secure a stoppage of play, the Referee shall stop play as outlined above and in this case assess the goalkeeper a minor penalty for delaying the game. If the goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask when the opposing team is on a breakaway, the Referee shall award a penalty shot to the nonoffending team, which shot shall be taken by the player last in possession of the puck. If the goalkeeper deliberately removes his helmet and/or face mask during the course of a penalty shot or shootout attempt, the Referee shall award a goal to the non-offending team.

Rangers commentator Sam Rosen said that right after the play was over, just regurgitating his words

To be fair, its not something they call normally, if ever. What's said in the rule book and the application of the rule at times can vary, the precedent has been that if the helmet is damaged there is no infraction.

The Sabres beat the Senators 9-2 yesterday, so it is only natural for the Senators to be up 2-o on Tampa and for Lundqvistt to shutout the Sabres. Makes sense.
