To be more specific, Canes opened it up early in the 2nd and started trading chances on rushes back and forth. Tampa was happy to do that and it really would have put the game away if they had scored during that sequence.

Instead, TB took a penalty which the Canes converted to make it 3-2. From the moment of that penalty, Tampa never really pressed again. They sat back and played it safe, and Canes just piled on chances till they tied on another PP. That finally got TB out of their shell but the momentum never swung back.

That’s a weird display from a team that should be fine-tuning for a Cup run.
