Big playoff implications for the Flames (59pts) tonight if they can beat the Sharks(61pts): sole possession of 2nd place in the Pacific as the Flames have more regulation wins than the Sharks on tiebreakers, and they would become 5th in the Conference, but will also (along with San Jose) played 52 games, the most in the conference.

Vancouver (59 pts being in 6th tonight) will have played only 49 games, the least in the conference, but only 2 points back of San Jose/Calgary.

However, at 61 points, the Flames/Sharks will be 6 or more points ahead of the wildcard pack (Dallas/Minnesota/L.A./Colorado) and they only have 1 or 2 games in hand.
