======================
I've had an idea. Let's decide who the greatest players in Avalanche history are.
  • You decide what "greatest" means.
  • Only judge players based on their Avalanche careers. This means no extra points for Sakic's time with the Nordiques, or Ray Bourque's time with the Bruins.
  • Poll will be open for a few days.
  • Each time you vote, suggest a player who should be added for the next round.
  • If there's no consensus on who should be added I'll just pick the next player who's played the most games.
  • Here's a list of everyone: Colorado Avalanche all-time player list at hockeydb.com

Boy we sure are at the dregs now, aren't we? Jay McClement is getting added next and I'm not joking.

Skrastins.

Add Damphousse.

Although Tyler Weiman rocked a lifetime 1.000 SV% 0.00 GAA stat line with the Avs. Although, I think he just gave Varly a piss-break or something in that one game. He didn't even record the win.

Is this like an "Add Vinny Lecavalier" type thing? Add Bryan Little.
Vinny Damphousse actually signed a contract with the Avs. He was to be the Forsberg "replacement". The lockout prevented him from actually playing as he called it a career after the cancelled season.

Pokecheque

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

I can't go with Skrastins, God rest that poor man's soul.

He's the one defenseman who was good in his own right but actually made the team WORSE when he was out there.

I voted Hejda. He was reasonably good the first year or so and he was clearly past his prime by the time he showed up in Colorado.

Wolski had the talent to be in the top ten of this list but alas...

voted Ryan bamf Wilson.

add Long Beach Native Matt Nieto. he was so good that the Avs retired his #83 to ensure never again someone uses that sacred number. not official yet, but a friend of mine told me his brother that works with the aunt of Sakic's neighbor heard it from the man himself. :yo:
