People get too tied up in a connection... the hockey world is pretty small, nepotism can be found everywhere. On the top 20 part, yeah he isn't, but adding him here would put him in the 20-22 range. We are on vote 11 with 10 options already. I'd say Makar and Clurman should be ahead, but we are simply running out of names.

100% of the reason Stienburg was picked was nepotism though.

Curious to see what Ambrosio does in his second season at BC.

I’m really hoping to see one of the depth forward prospects have a big year. A surprise season from Beaucage, or Ranta having a great year would be encouraging.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if Beaucage stays out of the ECHL this season.

When Hepple said “he has some skill, could be a 4th liner”. You don’t pick that guy at 63rd overall because he actually was evaluated and put on your list at that position. It was their extra pick and they got their org jollies with it.

That's not really proof, that's speculation.

Relationships certainly play a role in selections. You can go down the rabbit hole of a lot of different areas to find connections. That doesn't mean every situation is 100% nepotism. It can and has played a role, but Steinburg was getting selected that day.
