It's Morrison's turn now. I worry a lot that he's going to walk in UFA after his senior season, but if he does stay he has the best chance to be an NHLer out of anybody left. Add Lievermann still.

I really get the argument for Morrison... coin flip for me between Morrison, Weiss, and Mumps (not fatso :sarcasm:) Weiss won my coin flip tournament. In some fashion those 3 should probably be the next to come off the board. With Lewis/Henry shortly behind.

I'm going to pervert this whole thing by voting for Sasha Mutala, just because he has a cool name.

Try to stop me.

I don't recognize half the names. After Annunen I'm choosing based on names that I like instead of knowledge.

I cannot imagine he will have any sort of demand to be able to pull the UFA stunt. Even if he blows up and has some amazing season the Avs are the only team who can burn a year of his contract and give him NHL games if need be.

Henry still.

Isn't Annunen pretty much the only one left with realistic NHL upside?

Ehhh. If we're saying Annunen has "realistic" upside than Ithink a number of guys still have that upside.

To me Henry, Morrison, Zhuravlyov... they all have the same kind of upside as what Annunen does. I'm not placing bets on any of them that's for sure.

I don't know, we didn't think Butcher would have a whole lot of options as a college UFA. You never know with those guys and most teams won't pass up a chance to add a mostly-developed young player to their system for the price of an ELC. Given his draft pedigree I don't doubt he would have multiple teams lined up to offer him a contract even if they plan to stash him in the AHL for more development time.

In theory, this makes sense about burning the year.

However, the AVs deepening depth will be harder for him to ever reach the NHL.

Call ups: Greer, O’Connor, Ranta, Lewis, Henry, Saigeon,

No chance he signs unless a trade agreement to burn a year.

Butcher got that leverage when he won the Hobey Baker. Maybe some other team would give Morrison an ELC but waiting until Aug 15 to sign just to go to someone else’s AHL seems like a needless risk.

To be fair, that is about what I weighed at 15 too. Wrestled the weight class below that as a freshman (and got bumped up to 97s at times depending on the match). Turned 15 as a sophomore, so would not have been much more than that. Graduated at 130lbs, shipped to Parris Island at 135lbs (and gained 30lbs while there). Been gaining ever since...fair chance I am the heaviest person on this sub-forum now.
