We took Hunter because he is 6'7" and can put up some points. We see him as a better offensive version of Brian Boyle. If the Nashville Gm is still there in 3 years we will take a first for him then.

Wait how'd I get skipped?

Edit: I see now. I thought Mont was on the clock too. Oh well, don't mind that pick.

He's another really intriguing prospect. Skating is labored but there are tools to work with.
:handclap:

You can develop speed, you can't teach height and aggression. Stick him on a second or third line with a responsible center and a shoot first winger and watch the points pile up. He did well with Jenner and Dal Colle

jBuds is a late (late) night poster, so I imagine he'll make NYR's pick while I'm asleep tonight. I've got my player queued up to be posted just before 9 in the morning. If he snakes my guy, I've got a backup.

With the 47th pick, Edmonton's first pick in the 2014 NHL draft, the Oilers are proud and happy to select from the Dexter School in Massachusetts, Ryan Donato, center.

"Ryan is the type of player that the Oilers plan to build their future around. He has a non-stop motor and sublime offensive instincts to go along with good size and physicality, and the kid turned 18 less than a month ago, so we really like his potential, a lot. In our opinion, Donato should have been a first round pick. We believe that playing in high school hurt his draft stock, which was fortunate for us. Players with hustle like his usually don't go unnoticed, but we believe we got a steal today in Donato."

Thoughts? I think it's a good draft at least for two rounds.

Not bad ..but after the first 10 overall picks it's a bit underwhelming and a total cap shoot as most of the guys in the second could sneak into the end of the first and vice versa.
