</p> Mikko Rantanen turned 19 on Oct. 29th. Instead of spending his birthday in the NHL, however, he was gearing up for a California road trip in the AHL. The first round pick began the 2015-16 season with the Colorado Avalanche but, after going pointless through six games, was sent down to the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL.
Fortunately for the Avalanche organization, Rantanen responded well to the demotion, scoring a goal and assist in his first AHL game.… read more
