Thanks so much, think Stanek accomplished a lot at the international level but unfortunately wasn't able to translate that over to the NHL level in terms of play-off success. One thing that was interesting to me was his loyalty was set as low when I created him but only played for two teams in his career. I think if he had left Quebec a bit earlier he would've broke out sooner but I really wanted him to help Quebec turn into a powerhouse, but being an expansion team on the last DB made that hard. I'm excited that it's fixed for V20!

Overall, very happy with his career. Think he turned into a superstar player who had a ton of individual success but never really translated that to team success even though Florida was quite the power house for a long time. Hopefully my next player can win a few cups!

Do you have his career earnings available? Would be interested to see how he stands up vs the other players since I know he signed a lot of extremely expensive 1 year deals in his last few years.

I can tally that up for you!

Mr. Skrastins! A really interesting career. At 6'5 I really thought he was going to be the next Drew Doughty, but things didn't really work out that way. He showed flashes but it never really came together where he was able to put consistent seasons together. Starting from the beginning of his hockey career there was a lot of expectations on Skrastins. He absolutely demolished the PHC with Shattuck-St. Mary's. He was able to earn a scholarship to Michigan State University, where he played 3 seasons and got better with every season. He was a true leader on that squad. His transition to pro was a tough one. I really think Atlanta thought he would be a pillar on their young electrifying squad but things never really worked out that way. A part of the problem is that they had a lot of depth on the Right Side and he wasn't ever going to get that true opportunity. So they moved Skrastins to New Jersey for Luke Hughes which was a huge trade!! Took the league by storm. Again Skrastins found himself as a the 2nd pairing RHD. It wasn't until he was moved to Chicago that he really got the opportunity to be a #1 RHD and he was able to produce. He was able to translate that into a long term contract with the Jets where he had a 78 points. But it was back to mediocrity for him after that. Skrastins is a guy who has a lot of playoff experience and he's someone you want on your back end. But he might not be a guy who you can lean on to lead your team to glory. Either way he was able to get inducted to the Hall of Fame and he still had a very successful career! Congrats!

Crabb Mann one of the tallest and youngest in the series and one of the most dynamic builds. He is a 6'7" center with a ton of skill, ala, Tage Thompson. Coming out the gate he didn't show too much in the AJHL. I was actually a little bit disappointed, but I think a big kid who is still learning how to put it all together will struggle against older players. Never-the-less he was the best pick that Vancouver could envision and they decided to take him first overall. With Mann, they knew they were getting a project, especially with a late birthday, they'd have him for 2-3 years. He had 3 special seasons in the WHL and proved himself to be a dominant goal scorer. It just sucked that he was drafted to Seattle where their development of young players and centers wasn't the best. He had a tough rookie season in the NHL but he was able to really push and be strong second line player for them. The best decision he made was to leave in UFA and establish himself as a #1 center somewhere else. Minnesota proved to be the perfect grounds for him to go and become a fan favourite. Crabb was a big a big part of their Stanley Cup run. He was even named Conn Smythe. I was really happy that he was able to get another one before he officially retired. Also, Mann was a big part of Team Canada at both the Junior and Men's level and was able to capture Gold Medals at the World Juniors and Olympics. His overall numbers are a bit low because of the slow start but I'm so happy he had a pretty successful career overall!

Happy New Year my friends! Thank you all for participating in the superstar. Looking forward to a great 2023 with more versions.

I’m almost done retirements and we’ll start v20 after January 3rd.

I’m debating on which team I should take over, I need your help to decide!

1. Should I just start off as GM of Japan and work my way up to the NHL?

2. Rebuild the Arizona Coyotes and GM Japan

3. Take over my Expansion Team I helped build, the Quebec Nordiques

4. Bring a Stanley Cup to my hometown and favourite team the Toronto Maple Leafs

5. Rebuild the Ottawa Senators

6. Rebuild the Anaheim Ducks

7. Start off with a Major Junior/NCAA team and work my way up the ranks.

Btw, im almost done the first season of a new save with Atlanta, and Quebec did super well (like, playoff bound). I'm curious to see if the magic will be replicated in the Superstars save

Baaaad - the worst of the 4 teams haha. But , overall, the expansions teams are all better than the likes of Chicago, Columbus, Arizona. With a bit of luck in 2023, they should be well on their way to compete for the playoffs.

I play pretty hands off so I'm not exactly sure what killed the team, but goaltending (Varlamov and Blackwood) was atrocious.

I traded a few pending FA's for picks and prospects (Varlamov, Tarasenko and Killorn), even managing to snag Zadina which I hope will get good.

I’d love to see how your sim plays out if you’re willing to post it. (Maybe message me it so we don’t start filling up this post with random clutter 😂)it’s fun to see how our 4 teams ended up doing

The recap we have all been waiting for. The GREAT and in my opinion the GOAT of all these EHM superstars has retired. Captain Reynolds. From the outset we all knew this superstar was going to be a special one to follow. With Brooks in the AJHL he put up back to back 92 point seasons. It was great enough to earn him a scholarship at the university of Denver! Although he never achieved team success at Denver he had a lot of individual success and was a big part of Canada's World Junior Squad. Helping them win two gold medals. Listen Reynolds is just a pure leader and winner. Everyone knew he'd make the jump right to the NHL after being drafted and it was no surprise he'd go first overall. He's a 6'4 defenseman that can play both sides and is superior on both the defensive side of the game and offensive. It was a no brainer for the Capitals to take him first overall and build their team around him. It didn't take him long to take off and begin putting up electric numbers as a defenseman. Whats even more incredible is that Reynolds has basically won every major award a defenseman can win. He was a guy who could run your power play and then get back and run your penalty kill. A true driver of offense and play. The Washington Capitals went as Reynolds went. It was amazing to see him put up three 100+ point seasons and even lead the league in scoring TWICE! What's even more special is that Reynolds is the only superstar in this series to become a part of the Triple Gold Club (1 Stanley Cup, 1 Olympic Gold and 1 World Championship Gold). He is the elite of the elite. He's everything an organization could want in a first round pick, loyal to the very end. Played 21 seasons and brought them 2 Stanley Cups, 2 American Championship Cups and 4 Stanley Cup appearances. Even to end his career he finished with 90 points with Sabres. There really wasn't much left for him to accomplish! He was a first ballot hall of famer and I know we can all stand in awe of the fantastic career of Reynolds!

I’d love to see how your sim plays out if you’re willing to post it. (Maybe message me it so we don’t start filling up this post with random clutter 😂)it’s fun to see how our 4 teams ended up doing

I'll start a thread - I did for a previous sim but tapered out. I think I'll do recaps up until June 30th, as I think this is where transactions start and the calendar resets for a new year.

Made me appreciate even more all the time francis spends on these superstars versions.

@Dakinjor sorry for it taking so long to get this out to you! But we finally get to say goodbye to Mr. Povysil. Doing this recap made me realize that Povysil really didn't get the proper recognition that he probably should have. Povysil is legitimately a generational player and a guy who's had a pretty big impact where ever he has played. Another 6'4 Two-Way Forward who can just completely take over games. He can play on your Power Play, he could play on your Penalty Kill and he can just provide you with unlimited offense. It baffles me that he and the others on Kansas City couldn't put it all together. From a young age we knew that Povyil would be a generational goal scorer. But we weren't expecting this. Finishing his WHL career he had 116 goals in 171 games and is one of the all-time goal scoring leaders in the WHL. That translated right over to the NHL where he was able to score 734 goals. What's crazy that in the height of his career he could probably be considered to be more of a playmaker as opposed to goal scorer but he was really both. The move to the Canucks seemed to be the pivotal stop in his career. Once he got there his game kind of exploded even more. He was most likely that final piece that Vancouver needed in order to help them get over the hump and win a few cups. He is also one of two superstars who are able to say they are apart of the Triple Gold Club! I think when it comes down to it, Povysil was probably robbed of a few awards and recognitions. But overall, a really great career! Congrats on an amazing career!
