Another update coming tonight! Planning on finishing hopefully by next Tuesday. With that being said, I'm happy to announce I will be doing a version 14 that will include Seattle!

Here are some notes:

  • I liked giving us the opportunity to have multiple superstars each. I'm content with 2 each but was flirting with the idea of expanding to 3 each. I just don't want to over saturate. If we go to 3 each, we may have to randomize our Potential Ability more and maybe have a few second liners. What do y'all think?

  • I'd also like to see us have some more variation in terms of where our players are from to see cooler story lines. Rarely do we have players from countries like Sweden, Finland, France, Great Britain, Russia. I love our USA/Canada guys and I still want guys from there but I'd also like to see guys from the countries I named as well.

  • Starting from this version on could you try and choose new names for your players. Because eventually I'm hoping to do an All-Time article that tracks players from all versions to see which superstars were the best. I love seeing the family linages continued, so you can rename players but give them a Jr. or something.

  • I'd love to see more realistic names, but whatever floats peoples boats.

  • I'd be open to taking over a small nation and trying to bring them to glory again. I'm thinking Japan? Especially because our players can play in the Asian league for 3 to 4 years which is enough time to get us to the first division in the World Championships and qualify for the playoffs. I'm thinking of creating 1 Japanese player and 1 Swedish player for myself. How do we feel about this? Everyone is free to create their player from whatever country they want. I just like making it interesting so a group of us can try this again like we tried with Germany, Australia and New Zealand before.
Are there any other suggestions you guys have or want to see implemented?

1) I would stay with 2 players each and still randomize the potential. I dont know about other guys, but I dont mind being unlucky and having two weaker players, thats the odds and it will be fun.

3) Great idea, Im in! :))

4) Definitely, thats what I always say. Names like Goalie McGoalieface and others like that are just …

5) Might be fun, I would definitely put one of my players to the nation you choose! :)

Great news Francis

1. No problem with 2 or 3 players.
2. Allow when multi players then all have to be from different countries example for three, Canada, Germany, South Korea
3. good idea and should be easy for all
4. agree and mentioned that before that would be much nicer for all when a player has a name which sounds close from that country.
5. Why not one player for a small nation run, there are a number of interesting nations (Korea, China, Australia (part of Asian region for Ice Hockey), is the Asian League not major a Korean League?

I am not sure if discussed before, is there option that we mainly play the KHL but I am not sure if it works that players moving all after some years in the NHL.

Yeah I think different names is good I've been mixing it up every game.

I think two players max per person is good. Anything more can just get so messy to me.

And I think if you have two players, only one should be from a bit country like the US Canada, Sweden ect. The other should be from smaller countries for sure. If anything, no division 1 teams.

Also I would like to see potentials mixed up a bit. It does get a bit meh with everyone just max 20s in ever skill they chose.

Agreed with most of those points. If I randomize CA and PA more. We might see guys linger in college, major Junior, europe longer. We’ll get more AHL story lines and it’ll be more random. I’d like to do that for the next version and see if some guys go KHL and stay there: it would make it more interesting for once compared to everyone being so good!

Just a heads up, I will be opening up the V14 thread today. Just so I can start creating guys and sim testing while waiting for V13 to sim. It will give me something to do and also allow for more people to join so it’s not a rush to join. So start thinking about what type of players you want to create! Lmk if anyone wants to join team Japan

Would be fun to get Masaru Nuimasuka's son (Superstar V10). He was my favorite player and such a stud for a small guy

Now the question is do I give him Ottawa has a birthplace with dual citizenship, but still make him play in the Asia League as Masaru went back to Japan post-retirement (when the yet unnamed son would have been around 10 years old) or do I not risk it and give him only Japan citizenship. Technically, he can have both until he is 22 then he has to choose (Japan does not allow dual citizenship), so I could bump that earlier and just give him the Japanese one yet born in Ottawa. Would still like him to start with fluent English (or at least basic).

Frank Schmidt the best point defender this season and when I am right the second time the fastest skater at the All Star competition. Lennart Neureuther is a disappointment in the NHL season but shows always his value when he is playing for Germany.

So many cups for the Berlin Wall

As for the other things

Stick with two players imo. Max of one player for the main countries and the 2nd player has to play for a non-traditional country. EX you can have one player for Canada OR USA, and the other must be from a non-North American Country

I'd love to see more realistic names, but whatever floats peoples boats.
Disagree. This is all for fun. Who cares if someone names their player Pokemon Go.

I would love to do this with a commitment to actually carrying the country to greatness.

I can already tell you guys that I will be naming my Japanese players after DBZ characters. Sorry, not sorry.
