Our players should be starting to retire. I really hope that you make some saves and report about how the players retire, write-ups on their careers, etc. I want you to finish this fully.

As for the next one I am in. But personally I'd like more variation. Pretty much everyone in this one became a quality player. Honestly I'd have been ok if some players just became Euro stars, with little NA success. It'd make it more interesting, IMO. But I'm probably in a minority with that.

this is what I want for the next one, i want to make it more variable and have different career paths. I will do extensive write ups on the careers of each player!

Two of our superstars have decided to retire in 2041, Will Locke and Daniel Stankovic. Here is a recap of their illustrious careers.

Will_Locke_Biography.png

Records Held:
  • Ottawa Senators Most Goals, Assists and Points by a Rookie
Teams Played For:
  • Kingston Frontenacs
  • Ottawa Senators
  • Winnipeg Jets
  • Toronto Maple Leafs
  • Philadelphia Flyers
Important Awards Won:
  • 1 Calder Memorial Trophy
  • 8 King Clancy Memorial Trophies
  • 1 Hart Memorial Trophy
  • 1 Frank J. Selke Trophy
Competition Medals/Trophies
  • 1 WJC Silver Medal
  • 1 WJC Gold Medal
  • 2 Olympic Gold Medals
  • 2 Olympic Silver Medals
  • 1 World Championship Silver Medal
  • 4 World Championship Gold Medals
  • 1 World Cup Trophy
Will Locke was such a fierce leader, having won 8 King Clancy Trophies and Captaining every team he's played for. He was arguably one of the best superstar players. Mr. Consistency is probably the nickname I would give him. Just a pure scoring force. I would say however, I was fairly disappointed in Locke's inability to help his team win in the playoffs. Towards the end of his career he made it to the Stanley Cup finals twice with the Flyers, but was unable to get them over the hump. Will Locke was a force on the international stage and was often selected to represent Canada every chance he got. Locke will go down as one of the best offensively gifted players in history. I just wish he got the chance to lead his team to cup glory. I fully anticipate he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Records Held:
  • Philadelphia Flyers Most Assists by a Rookie (34 assists)
  • Philadelphia Flyers Most Career Games - (1499 Games)
  • Philadelphia Flyers Most Career Assists - (928 Assists)
  • 9th All Time in NHL History for Assists - (1072 Assists)
Teams Played For:
  • Philadelphia Flyers
  • Frolunda HC
  • Colorado Avalanche
Important Awards Won:
  • 6 World Championships Best Defenseman Awards
  • 2018/19 European Champions Cup Best Defenseman
Competition Medals/Trophies
  • Swedish Hockey League Trophy Winners (2019)
  • 1 Stanley Cup (2035)
Daniel Stankovic was quietly one of the most effective players within our superstar challenge. He consistently was a top offensive defenseman. Though he never won a Norris, he was able to help improve his team's special teams with his play. What I loved about Stankovic was his loyalty to the team that drafted him. He stuck it out and won a cup with them and continued to produce. After his first season he has never had a season lower than 50 points. I believe Stankovic will for sure make it to the Hall Of Fame. There really hasn't been a defenseman besides Werenski who has been as effective as him.

***UPDATE BOTH STANKOVIC AND LOCKE WERE BOTH INDUCTED INTO THE NHL HALL OF FAME

My guy Kurjala also retired, but it was random, it didn't say he was set to retire.

  • Vancouver Giants Most Points & by a Center and Rookie in a Single Season (98 Points)
Teams Played For:
  • Vancouver Giants
  • Boston Bruins
  • Colorado Avalanche
  • Vegas Golden Knights
  • Arizona Coyotes
  • Edmonton Oilers
Important Awards Won:
  • None in the NHL
Competition Medals/Trophies
  • 1 WJC Silver Medal (2019)
  • 1 WJC Gold Medal (2019)
  • 1 Olympic Gold Medal (2034)
Vegito Blue didn't have the most illustrious career. The start of his career was quite mediocre. He was on a stacked Boston Bruins team that quite simply could not get the job done. Somewhere in the middle of his career he exploded offensively and really became one of the premier centers in the league. He was a true goal scorer and had a nose for the net. He didn't really test UFA too much and managed to leave an impact wherever he went. He didn't have a lot of international success as he was rarely chosen to represent Canada. Vegito Blue was solid but I always felt there could have been more for his career. He was inducted to the NHL Hall of Fame!

I plan on posting the template for the new superstar tonight. New exciting rules and it will be more variable! Not everyone will be an NHL superstar and you can start on any team in the world you want and be any age.

Maybe you wanna be a 26 year old AHL rookie?

Maybe you wanna start in minor hockey at 14.

Maybe you want to make a living in the Asian or Russian hockey league.

CA will be randomized
PA will be randomized as well.

I will allow 1 player from Slovakia and 1 Player from Czech Republic

The hockey powerhouse countries will be off limits. So no Canada, USA, Russia, Sweden, Finland

Landon Flare, I was so happy to see him end off his career with a Stanley Cup. He was such a beast of a defenseman. Could play both sides of the puck and won numerous Norris Trophies. Had he been on better teams he would have had more accolades. When he put up that 92 point season with the Montreal Canadiens I was in shock. One of the things that stuck out to me most was his loyalty as a player. He stayed on teams for years. He will go down as the best two-way defenseman in NHL history.

Jarkko Aaltonen was a pure defensive forward. He didn't put up a lot of points but he was relied upon a lot as utility forward. He was so reliable on the international stage and was always willing to represent Finland in all tournaments he can.

David Norton was quite simply one of the best goal scorers in the superstar challenge. He had a slow start to his career in Vancouver but all it took was one trade to Pittsburgh. After that, the rest is history. He made a name for himself there and proved to be one of the best American Snipers ever. He went to 3 cup finals and took home 1. I will never forget the rivalry built against the Los Angeles Kings. Norton was my favourite guy to follow, always wanting to see how he would dominate the score board with his size and power.

All three were inducted into the NHL Hall-Of-Fame. I will continue to update these in the coming days, it takes a lot to do the research for each one and make sure I'm not missing anything. So I will continue to update them.
