Five teams in the protocol & postponing games. Saw this question posed elsewhere & got curious. Is there a point where the PHPA says no more games until changes are made, like limited fans, etc? At the end of the day, it is the union's primary (only?) job to protect the players.

This has nothing to do with fans and limiting the number at games. I think if it all comes out this has everything to do with the fact that you can't expect players to stay sequestered in their homes except when at the rink...they have to go to grocery store or they eat out etc...has nothing to do with fans. I doubt there is a point where they "pull the plug" on games until changes come...What changes? Not allow them outside their homes except to and from the rink? Tell them they can't see family during the season and ban them from traveling home to see them during christmas break? Ban fans from arenas? There is really nothing they can do outside of what they are doing...and if it's the fans at games how come it's not affecting every team? Do other teams not have fans?

The primary job of the PHPA is to establish conditions of player employment that ensure those players are fairly compensated for their work. Neither cancelling games & nor limiting fan attendance support that goal.
