Which one would be your preferred as your longterm LD-RD defense pairing?

Well Heiskanen-Makar would be the best-skating defensive pairing in the league. They also have pretty clearly defined roles.

Dahlin and Fox don't have such strong skating and the roles don't match as well, so there would be some competition which might hurt one player's performance.

I would have thought Fox would be paired with Heiskanen to complement each other more than Dahlin-Fox. I guess this was just east-west.

Cant be true. Ive heard that when you got a shit team around you then you score more goals. So he should benefit from having lesser people who pass around the puck.
Makar would score 80 but he's too awe shucks and humble to ever score more.

He can do no wrong.

6 5v5 points in 20 games. Scoring on a power house PP is one thing..
The Avs injuries and offseason departures certainly affect the 5v5 numbers, there is only one line that can score consistently. Leading the league in ice time and being more of a complete all situations Dman doesn't help the scoring either, easier deployment and reduced minutes would keep Makar more fresh.

Makar is still a PPG Dman though for the 3rd straight year. No other Dman in the league does it more consistently.
