Movies: Have you ever paid to see a movie more than once?

Of all things, How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 2000.

One was with family, the other was a date. Only paid for the date one though, but I did pay for popcorn for the family outing so I guess that counts? :dunno:

Haven't seen more than maybe 10 minutes of it since.

Is that the one with Jim Carey and Taylor Momsen?

I saw Phantom Menace 5 times in the theatre.

Different groups of people kept inviting me, so don't judge me.

I also saw Force Awakens twice with different groups of folks.

Yes. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (American version). With with a few friends and then a girl I was interested in asked me to go. Be dumb to say no.

...though in hindsight not a great date movie.

Seeing the Phantom Menace five times is some next level masochism.

The only two that I can remember are Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" (three times that I can recall, perhaps more) and "No Country For Old Men".

Once:

Batman v Superman

Took my kid first night it was open, thought it was entirely badass. Went again 3 days later.

yes--for a very goofy reason

I am sure I am the only one who EVER did this

had a date(in high school nearly 30 years ago for a time frame) and she was a little high maintenance and finicky `--so I caught the after noon showing of a movie we were seeing that night as a precaution so that there was nothing to side track the date

Thats a pretty good idea mate :yo:

As for the OP -- Revenge of the Sith, Wolf of Wall Street, Dark Knight Rises, Black Mass, Fast 7 off the top of my head

Having a crush on Lea Thompson is nothing to be ashamed of.

Seriously, I watched it for the first time just months ago. I somehow avoided it for 30 years because of how awful I'd always heard it to be. I was surprised that it's actually not that bad. I found it rather funny and cute. I think that there were just high expectations when it was released, mostly because it was from George Lucas and Lucasfilm, and those weren't met. If you watch it now with low expectations and are prepared for 80s cheese, it can be somewhat enjoyable, at least if you grew up in the 80s.

The only movie I remember paying for twice is Birdman which I saw in my hometown in Belgium and then a couple of weeks later with some friends in Holland.

I'm surprised not more of us have seen movies multiple times for strategic romantic reasons. I remember seeing Claude Lelouch's A Man and a Woman and absolutely loving it on its own stylish merits but also thinking "hey, perfect date movie or what." Over the years, I have revisited it with a lot of different women (granted, one of them was my mom who I knew would love it), present partner included, and it has always been a great way to start an evening.
