Agreed to have the UFA traded as a rental for picks/prospects, thereby improving the team, then have the UFA "re-sign" in the offseason?

It would be a form of collusion, but pretty clever I think.

Doug Weight got traded from the Islanders to Carolina. Won a cup, then re-signed with the Islanders.

New York has traded multiple rights to to teams only to have that player sign back with the Rangers.

EDIT: Weight got traded from the Blues, then went back to the Blues

It's doable, but rare. I'd love to see Markov do that, but it seems like when a player comes to grips with being moved, they cut ties.
