I'm surprised to see an American player sign with a Swedish team, given the issues with relocating. Other than that, I kind of expected that. Why would a player with legitimate NHL interest stay in college when there's no guarantee that the season would be played? It's better to sign the contract now and cash in.

Harvard (and the rest of the ECAC) isn't likely to be playing hockey this year. The only way for these guys to continue their development is to go pro. Harvard also allows those who depart undergrad programs to return at any time to finish their degrees, so the only thing they're losing out on is the $500K they'd make on an ELC vs. a year of socially distanced education. It's a relatively easy choice.
