I think McDavid may even have been better defensively, frankly. He was decent that year before having a couple of rough defensive seasons in 2018 and 2019. He was probably a better ES player at any rate. I believe he led the NHL in expected plus/minus in 2017.

I think these two are about as close to even as it can get. If you were able to swap them they would put up the same numbers considering where scoring was at in each season.

If I ask 1000 people what is a better offer of a gift: $499 or $500.

They're essentially identical, but one is just a but better.

You would expect that although the offers are very similar, one is just slightly better, and therefore you'd expect the result to be unanimous.


Sid had a slightly better season and it's no surprise the results are 86.5% - 13.5%.
