Brutal.

Cracks me up to see everyone penciling Collberg,McCaron,Hudon,Bozon,DLR,Ghetto and Lehkonen etc. into the future line ups. We'll be lucky if 2 of them make it full time on the team.

But our prospect pool has never been deeper!!!!

Same **** all the time. Not everyone makes it. Thing is, some guys are NHL caliber but aren't good in a specific role to make it. If an offensive player isn't offensive enough, he doesn't make top 6 and if he is okay defensively but not okay he won't make 3rd. If he brings no energy, no 4th. Happens to prospects too.

Sather's teams had structure, it's just a structure you're not familiar with and therefore doesn't exist.

Sather copied the style from the '70's WHA's Winnipeg Jets. The Jets got a whole bunch of players from Sweden and they brought their system with them.

Hull - Kurri
U. Nilsson - Gretzky
Hedberg - G. Anderson
Lars Erik Sjoberg - Paul Coffey
Willy Lindstrom - Willy Lindstrom
Kent Nilsson - Kent Nilsson

There was no system lol

A true system incorporates all three zones and the Oilers simply tried to outgun the opposition thus leaving Fuhr and Moog out to dry most nights. Bowman's teams were always among the best defensive teams due to his demand for adherence to his systems.

The comparables and their given roles that you listed are ridiculous btw.

Going incredibly off topic, so locked. If someone wants to talk about christian thomas specifically, post it in the hamilton thread.
