I want to hear why we have a Director of Goaltenders and he's not the one talking to the media.

Because Eric Raymond is the one who works with the goalies on a direct level.

Burke is a Director of Goaltending, but he lives in Arizona. So Raymond is the guy you want to talk to. He will offer more substance to the conversation.

So why do we have a guy with a fake title working for us in Arizona?

It's not a fake title. But this is very common in the NHL. Not everyone who works in hockey ops lives in the city of the team they work for.

- Mellanby and Ramage live in St. Louis.
- Timmins lives in Ottawa.
- Dudley and Carriere live in Buffalo.

These guys travel around a lot so it doesn't matter where they live.

What does a director of goaltending do?

He directs goaltiending. :sarcasm:

If I'm to assume, he's in charge of the Habs goaltending coach Eric Raymond, Laval's goaltending coach Marco Marciano, as well as ensuring the goalie prospects are being looked after, as well as someone like Vincent Riendeau, who is the Habs' goalie scout.

Just making sure that area of the organization, top to bottom, is working properly.
